For more than 30 years, we at Rennarzt have provided support for international and national major sporting events and motorsport teams around the world, including in the USA, Sebring, Daytona, Mexico, Canada, Suzuka, Macau, Africa and Europe, as well as at events such as Le Mans and the Nürburgring.
We organise all medical and paramedical care on site. Depending on the arrangements, this can be complemented by conditioning training during the preparation phase, including altitude training, as well as sports-focused nutritional counselling and planning where required. We can also provide sports physiology support at the racetrack.
Dr. med. Karl R. Schuster successfully provided medical support to the Opel team and internationally active professional teams such as Sauber-Mercedes in sports car racing, the AMG touring car team and the PZK-Team. He also worked with Altfrid Heger, Uwe Alzen, Michael Bartels, Bernd Mayländer, Jürgen von Gartzen, Markus Winkelhock, Kurt Thiim, Marco Werner, Lucas Luhr, Pierre Kaffer, Christian Menzel, Nico Menzel, Christian Abt, Emanuel Collard, Timo Bernhard, Burkhard Bechtel, Max Welti, Frank Biela, Christina Surer, Mattias Ekström, Karl Wendlinger, Jürgen Alzen, Kris Nissen, Karl Mauer, Alexander Margaritis, Olaf Manthey, Wolfgang Land, Marino Francitti, Franz Konrad and Patrick Simon, as well as world-class drivers including Michael Schumacher with Sauber-Mercedes, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Klaus Ludwig, Jochen Mass, Nigel Mansell and many more.

The Rennarzt team served as the official medical team for the former V8 Star Series and provided medical support at the Nürburgring 24 Hours for PZK Racing, Phoenix Racing and GS Sportmarketing, including the FIA GT Championship. We also provided medical support for 24-hour kart races in Cologne and Sinsheim.
To date, the Rennarzt team has also provided medical support at the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring, Spa and Le Mans for: Jürgen Alzen Motorsport, Manthey-Racing, Land-Motorsport, Konrad Motorsport, ABT-Audi, ABT-Bentley, Haribo-Racing, BMW Motorsport and Schnitzer Motorsport.

We provide sports medical care for recreational, amateur and competitive athletes. We carry out all preventive and non-exercise-based examinations directly at our practice. Whether professional or amateur, you can rely on our Professional Medical Check.
To participate in licensed motor racing as a driver or co-driver, you require a licence.
To obtain a DSMB driver or co-driver licence for motor racing, applicants must undergo a medical examination by us or another physician licensed to practise medicine in Germany. The physician must certify that the applicant is medically fit to participate in motor racing. The relevant application form must be presented at the examination.
